Day 1 - Arrive in Paro – Thimphu

During the flight on a clear day, you will get to enjoy breath takings views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjungha, and other famous Himalayan peaks including sacred Mount Jumolhari and Jichu Drake Peaks in Bhutan. Upon arrival at Paro Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and trasfered to your hotel.  The drive to Thimphu is about 1 hour.  On route, enjoy the view of the Valley of Thimphu River through a rather arid and Rocky landscape. 

After lunch we will take you to visit the The King's Memorial Chorten (built-in memory of The Third King of Bhutan who reigned from 1952-1972), Buddha point, the world largest statue of Buddha, Changgangkha Monastery, Takin Zoo followed by Thimphu Dzong.  Overnight stay at Hotel in Thimphu.                                              

Day 2 - Thimphu Sightseeing and Drive to Punakha

After breakfast, we will visit The School of Traditional Arts school; visit weaving centre and the Zilukha nunnery which was built by Drupthop in 14thcentury.

After sightseeing and lunch in Thimphu, drive to Punakha, the road climbs for an hour till you reach Dochula Pass at an altitude of 3150m dotted with colorful prayer flags and 108 Stupa.  Weather permits, this pass offers the most spectacular view over the high peaks of the Eastern Himalayans. Continue the journey and after tea at Chimmi Cafeteria, you will take a walk to the temple standing on a round hill rock through a paddy field to Chimi Lhakhang or the temple of fertility. It is about 20 minutes walk through rice terraces and the village of Yoakha. The temple is situated on the spur above the village. It is believed that barren couple will have children if they get blessing for this temple continue the journey and Drive to Bhutan's most spectacular Punakha Dzong and walk in the Dzong by crossing the cantilever bridge. The Punakha Dzong was built in the year 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.  Over night stay at hotel in Punakha.

Day 3: Punakha Sightseeing - Drive to Paro 

After breakfast  at the hotel, drive about ten kilometers north of Punakha, on a hill rock called Nyizergang, HM the Queen Ashi Tshering Yangden had built three stored chorten called Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten consecrated in December 1999. Situated in idyllic rural countryside, 45minutes climb from the road is well worth to see the paintings, which are beautiful and present an incredibly complex iconography. After that then drive back to Paro (138km / 4 hours). After lunch, on the way back to the town you will visit the oldest temple called Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most revered temples, which was built by a Tibetan king in 7th century to subdue the demoness and followed by visit Paro Rimpong Dzong which was built in 17th Century and visit to Ta Dzong from where you can enjoy the view of the valley. Overnight at Dorji Dema home stay/ hotel in paro depending upon clients suggestion in Paro.                                                         

Day 4 - Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger Nest)

After breakfast, drive about 30 minutes and hike to Taktsang Goempa (Tiger's Nest Monastery). The hike upto the viewpoint will take about 1 1/2 hours and from there you will enjoy a spectacular view of the monastery clinging to the side of the cliff. You will stop here for refreshments and then hike further upto the monastery which should take another 1 1/2 hours. It was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup, a cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three months in the 8th century. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) flew to this location from Khenpajong, Tibet on the back of a tigress and subdued a demon. He then performed meditation in one of the caves here and emerged in eight incarnated forms (manifestations) and blessed the place. Subsequently, the place came to be known as the “Tiger’s Nest”. Guru Padmasambhava.

After visiting Taktshang then you will visit Dorji Dema farm house at Paro for lunch, where you will experience the life of pure Bhutanese citizen.   Today we will have our dinner at Kicchu Eco Farm House, where you can get a chance to play tradition archery, which is the national game of Bhutan. Upon the clients decision they will also get a chance to take hot stone bath, however, the client’s needs to pay little $ for that. After experiencing archery and hot stone bath we will enjoy the dinner at Eco farm house.  Overnight stay at Dorji Dema homestay/ hotel depending upon clients suggestion.


Day 05: To Paro Airport

Druk Air generally departs early in the morning to avoid adverse weather conditions. Therefore, after taking early breakfast, we will drive you to the airport for your departure. Tashi Delek!

  1. The above given rate is for 3 star hotel. However, if the clients wish to stay in 4 and 5 star hotel then the rate will be different which will be higher than the above given depending upon the rate of 4 & 5 star hotels.

  3. If the clients prefer to use SIMCARD during their stay in Bhutan, then the tour operator can arrange simcard. However, each simcard will cost USD $ 5.  If you use simcard then you are connected to 3G whole round the tour.
